Séguine is southern France fabric smuggler. But there is something more to her, that makes her cloth so desired: a magic trick hidden in the pattern, or a treat in the bright colours... She is inspired from Marry Poppins and the cheeky characters from Fragonard's paintings
At the XVIII century, cloth is still a luxury item, so much that it even appears in death registers, wills, or dowry. But printing techniques imported from india allows to decrease the cost of their making. At the times, amongst other reasons, taxes, constraining laws and poitical instablity forced the middle and poorer classes to turn to black markets. This participated in forging Provence identy.
